aleadingnorth, it’s history. And until you acknowledge the mistakes of the past you are doomed to repeat them again and again. If you haven’t read the book, give it a go. I read it last year and it’s pretty funny and an eye-opener.

That “self-loathing” is such an American thing, we Brits know what we did and we are not going to do that again while America has been a force for evil just because of the American self-denial. Not long left. The whole house of cards is coming down and the world is cheering.

Not even remotely true. There is appalling historical ignorance in Britain regarding what they did - and it’s a willed ignorance. Brexit exposed that once again. Invasion of 90% of world’s countries, ruthless exploitation of famines, destruction of cultures & languages. 800 years of brutal oppression. it’ll take the US of A over half a millennium to even come close to that record of shame.
