Christopher Timothy, who’s the book narrator, played Herriot in the tv series. His dad, Andrew Timothy was the original announcer for the legendary Goon Show with Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and Michael Bentine.

Have you read the book about the real James Herriot (Alf White) written by his son? Fascinating, and startling in equal measure. A lot of serious things because it’s a real biography and so life can be…really difficult at times.
