Even before COVID-19 disproportionately impacted minority communities, life expectancy for Blacks was a full three years less than for white Americans. The very air we breathe is more polluted, our water is more contaminated, our local food options are toxic, and our jobs are underpaid. Despite the obvious need, the quality of our health care is tragically inadequate. Our communities are statistically less safe than the average, and yet we’re terrorized by the law-enforcement and criminal-justice systems that are supposed to protect us, sending Blacks to prison at five times the rate of whites. Not least, our means of addressing these injustices - voting - is perennially under assault.
It’s enough to drive you crazy. Well, guess what? According to Cigna, Blacks are 20 percent more likely to report “psychological distress” yet “50 percent less likely to receive counseling or mental health treatment”. It’s almost like the entire country has been structured with no regard for our welfare. Hmmm.

The problem with US healthcare is it’s absurd cost and as result million don’t have access to it. The for profit model is what’s broken.
In terms of quality of service it’s second to none like you would expect from the world most expensive healthcare. If you have the money the US is best place to get treated for nearly everything.

There were 6 “hate crimes” in the last year involving white people attacking black folks.

If there are only 6 crimes in these communities, they are the most blessed people on earth.
Of course, there aren’t and until they learn personal responsibility rather than blaming white people for their actions, their “communities” are going to be among the most violent and crime-ridden in the Western world.
But, remember folks, never let facts get in the way of more accusations of “racism”. M’kay?

@GordonCoon when your facts omit obvious things like “black people are less likely to report a crime because they’re afraid the police will murder them for no good reason”, then yes, accusations of racism are thoroughly warranted.
Elsewhere in the world, when you put a bunch of people into the poorest areas, it becomes a breeding ground for crime, regardless of those peoples skin colour. In America, there are still people alive who LEGALLY have been refused goods, services, housing, and education solely because of the colour of their skin. If your parents and grandparents grew up through that and you were born into a family that struggled massively financially, living in a poverty stricken area, maybe that would factor into your behaviour too.
You want to fix the problem of black people being violent? Start by acknowledging the root causes of it. Racists.

@Jack_Milad It’s not the ones who are denied anythihng that are the ones committing all the the crime. It’s the ones who internalize gangsta rap’s message of being a violent stereotype, the ones that only go to school to hang out with their friends, the ones who think you’re not a “REAL n*gga” if you never sold drugs or stole cars. I’m black. I’ve lived this. You’re just a white guy guessing at what life is like for us, and assuming white people are the problem. A HUGE swath of young black americans adopt a culture of crime because it’s “cool”. You don’t know us, don’t try to speak for us. Our main problems are hiphop/ghetto culture, not cops or white america. We’re causing our own problems.

@Rhio2k You’re describing a symptom of a larger problem. Perhaps schools in Florida aren’t great at socioeconomic courses, but you’d be surprised at just how universal it is that lower economic areas have higher rates of crime. Your theory that it’s because of hip-hop or ghetto culture don’t stand up to scrutiny when you’ve got areas all around the world that have both those things, either one, or neither. Yet the only thing that correlates with a rise in crime is income. Poorer areas = more crime. Every single time.
The rest of the world doesn’t have Florida’s school system, we’re actually allowed to have a bigger picture than anecdotal evidence of how one person experiences things.

@Rhio2k So no good kid has ever gotten involved in criminal activities because they were poor and wanted money quickly? Or is that where you’re changing the definition so they’re no longer counted as a ‘good kid’?
That’s like saying “peer pressure doesn’t turn a good kid into a thug, because if they turn into a thug they were never a good kid to begin with”. However you’re hoping that logic applies to poverty, it applies to any other aspect of culture. Because the two things are inherently intertwined.
Not saying you’re wrong in that culture is an aspect of it, but it’s only a part of the problem.
But for the sake of argument, let’s say you’re right and it’s all because of hip-hop. Explain why black neighbourhoods had higher crime rates and more violence in the 1960’s than their wealthier white counterparts. Because I get the feeling you’re not trying to imply that black people are inherently more likely to just be criminals because of some genetic predisposition.

While we’re blaming media for things, is it fair to say video games are the reason why you’re sexist. Movies are the reason you’re a furry. Anime is the reason why you’re an unpopular loner nerd. Rock is the reason you do drugs or self harm.
Yeah, we can acknowledge that quite often these things go hand in hand. But was it the media that caused the behaviour? Or is the media something that people from a similar background gravitate towards, and unsurprisingly those people tend to have stuff in common

@Rhio2k , now thats a smart reflection of the issue. Make all the race-baiting tactics of the left and the hip-hop thug culture BS uncool and lame as it should be, and you will be well on the way to solving the problems. Racism is an issue fundamentally of lack of education. Once any racist is educated on the merits of examples of outstanding individuals of any race, much of the racism is solved. Each race generally has strengths and weaknesses, but I feel much of the solution for African Americans is to drop the identity and focus on being value creators. Drop the whole identity of your race completely out of your mind, and focus on something of passion and value. There are plenty of poor whites who got out of the ghetto too, to think they cant give good reflection on an issue because they are not black is naive.
