humour? taking the piss. he was anything but funny..
Dostoevsky was darkly/morbidly funny, *notes from underground* is signalling he is supposed to be dead, under the ground, at time of writing it. His identity being split post Gulag..into two great writers…as if different people. Obviously a deal forced on him for his freedom. hardly consensual.
ACD wasn’t really funny,now was he trying, though it isnt a criticism.
