The COON Show??? In 2017 you’re bringing back something called the COON show??? You think that’s funny?

Thanks so much! It’s been forever since I’ve heard from the Goons. And it’s like hearing Peter Sellers for the first time all over again!

Thanks for this, duckplumber. I downloaded some Goon Show episodes a few years ago but the quality was such that I spent most of my time trying to figure out what was being said. These are remastered, so I hope more listenable. On the other hand, flac may be overkill for spoken word. I just may use MY copy of dbpoweramp and cut them down again somewhat, at least to test out how they sound at lower bitrate.

Beeb er it’s the Goon show with a G are you really that determined to take offence and find something racist? It’s a British classic and very funny.

Your welcome. Yes vaneyck, flac is a bit overkill for spoken word. I was debating on mp3 or flac for this one but as these compendium sets have been remastered and are simply the best sounding Goon Show releases out there, I thought flac was the way to go for this one.
Also, you’ll find that, due to the fact that most of the tracks here are in mono, the encoder hasn’t made these files much bigger than if they were in mp3 format.
More to follow soon…
