My collection of BBC Radio’s various attempts to recapture the magic of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Some of them are great, some middling and at least one I didn’t care for at all (naming no names).
All of these are full-cast dramas rather than sitcoms, so there are no live audiences. The only exceptions being ‘The Red Dwarf Radio Show’ and ‘And Another Thing…” which are both abridged radio readings.
There are also two series which are really fantasy rather than SF, ‘The Sofa of Time’ and ‘Hordes of the Things’.
‘Hordes of the Things’ also has a deleted scene restored at the beginning of episode one. It was cut because it mentions Hobbits & Middle Earth presumably without permission. The deleted scene doesn’t sound as good & is in mono, but is well worth having as it explains the backstory of the conflict.
In total there is over 60 hours of sci-fi shenanigans but I know of at least one notable omission. If anyone has a good copy of “Seymour the Fractal Cat” please upload it. I lost mine during a HD crash and it never gets repeated these days.

Wow, these are the exact same files I lost all those years ago. 14 years ago I was uploading torrents to Demonoid & then RadioArchive.cc under the username SeymourDAC.
These 160kbps mp3s of Seymour the Fractal Cat were recorded by me and uploaded to RadioArchive back in 2008.
Thought I’d never see them again after RadioArchive went kaput. Thanks again JoeBlack999

I am looking for the audio presentation of the Harry Harrison novel ‘Star Smashers of the Galaxy Rangers’ read by Kerry Shale.
Star Smashers has only ever been broadcast twice - 1986 and 1991 - on BBC radio 4 and radio 5 respectively, and because it was never made commercially available it has proved impossible to find.
If you can make the title available, I would really look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for reading.

I love the fact I can now listen to many recordings seemingly lost in time. Big fan of Rob Grant & Doug Naylor.

I’m guessing that the one you don’t like much is “the laxian key”,it’s OK,but not in the same class as the others.

I quite liked that one, though it falls apart after the first episode. Falling apart after the first episode is also a problem for Oneira.
However, if I’m getting loose-lipped here, I failed to crack even a grin for Space Hacks. Amazed they made a second series.
